The Tachlis of Leadership
We will offer two opportunities for alumni, members and fellows to deepen their knowledge on two separate topics. Each session will run 45 minutes and include time for Q & A. They will be led by expert Laura Solomon, Esq. (bio below) and facilitated by Angie Atkins, Director, Wexner Heritage Alumni. Please RSVP to receive the link; participation will be capped at 50 people per call.
“What Actually ARE Your Fiduciary Obligations? A Deep Dive into your Legal Obligations as a Board Member” — our first call, on Thursday, October 18th — is something many lay leaders, even at the top of their game, need clarity and guidance on. In the #MeToo era especially, and at any time, responsible board members should know their obligations, pitfalls and protections, to govern in the best way for their organizations.
“What Does Tax Reform Mean For You and Your Non-Profit? Implications of the Latest Tax Laws for Donors and Organizations” — our second call, on Thursday, December 6th — is geared towards end of the year giving. As we wrap up our thinking and plans for our end of the year philanthropy and tsedakah, we will explore what the recent Tax Reform Act means for donors and non-profits.
While these sessions will be by videoconference (see tech info below) you are welcome to dial in from a phone as well. Hope to see you online!

Tech and RSVP Information
We will be using a videoconference technology platform called Zoom, which is similar to Skype. Zoom is free and harmless to download, and allows us to see and hear each other so that we can have deep conversations in real time across the globe. To participate fully, you will need to be at a computer, iPad or smartphone with internet, a camera, mic and speakers. If you don’t have a camera or mic at your computer, you can still “zoom in” and just listen. You can also dial in from a phone as you would for a regular conference call. To register and receive video link and dial-in information, email Robin Halloran, Administrative Associate. Please mention which sessions you plan to attend in your RSVP. As registration is limited to 50 participants per session, please only register for the sessions you are certain to attend.
