Wexner Summits: Adaptive Leadership in Action
Wexner Summits: The Network In Action is a platform for alumni of all Wexner leadership initiatives to connect, learn and collaborate across our network. Through Summits, Wexner Alumni are exercising leadership by strategizing and stacking hands to take action that moves the needle on the key challenges facing the North American Jewish Community and the State of Israel. The Summit on Gender Safety and Equity, our fifth Summit, was conceived to address the systemic issues that contribute to discrimination, harassment and unequal opportunity in Israeli and North American Jewish communal workplaces based on gender. Convening near Washington, DC last month, the Summit first engaged participants in a peer-led deep learning dive into issues around Gender Safety and Equity, utilizing traditional texts, contemporary case studies and skills training about unconscious bias from an outside firm. After engaging in this multi-dimensional study, the Summit then moved into its action phase, galvanizing participants into teams committed to collaborative action projects over the next year to make our workplaces safer and more equitable for all. Gender Summit participants will reconvene in November 2020 in Israel to assess the impact of their year of collaborative work and strengthen their efforts for the future.

Get To Know The Authors
Wexner Senior Leader Shmuel Hirschmann (2016) has been the Director of Lev-Hasharon Mental Health Center since 2016 and his specialty is the treatment of sexual trauma. Shmuel holds an MD from the Technion in Haifa, an LLB from Ono Academic College and an MPA from Clark University.
Wexner Graduate Fellow Alum Wendy Rosov (Class 6) is the Founder and Principal of Rosov Consulting, LLC. She serves as a senior-level consultant to individual philanthropists, community and family foundations and Jewish communal non-profit organizations throughout North America and in Israel. Wendy holds a PhD in education from Stanford University, an MA in Jewish education from the University of Judaism and a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University.
Wexner Heritage Member Rachel Braun Scherl (Metrowest, NJ 08) is a growth strategy consultant, marketing expert, sought-after public speaker and a trusted authority on leadership and entrepreneurship. Rachel counsels many start-ups in the female health and wellness space. Rachel earned an MBA from Stanford University after graduating magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University with a BA in psychology and human development.
Wexner Israel Fellow Alum Alit Wiel-Shafran (Class 29) serves as the Co-Executive Director of 50-50 Startups, aiming to create new technology companies that are equally owned by and employing both Palestinians and Israelis. After graduating cum laude from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, with both a BSc and an MSc, she continued to earn her PhD. Alit also earned an MC/MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
